usb flashbag

Another gadget. An usb memory stick that is capable of changing its physical size, depending on the amount of data it holds. when the device is about to blow up one can see the familiar error message on your screen: "there is not enough free space". when switched off the flashbag remains pumped up, so one can estimate how much more pics, books & music albums can be transferred into it.

Indeed.. it is a bit of a joke. Still, I felt it was worthwile to post it. Connecting cyberspace to physical space is the big challenges of today and surely relates to the next nature research.

It's funny, I was going to post this thing a while ago, but I decided not to. I like that it looks kind of like a tick though.

:) the civil servant who leaves his/her memory-stick unattended in the car will have trouble finding an excuse when the device is fully grown. I call this genuine problem-solving technology! By the way: don't you think it looks like a bit like an orangina bottle? https://nextnature.net/research/?p=119#comments

What is your view on the coronavirus?

Siri Beerends: I really embrace the idea that viruses can teach us a lesson in modesty. It is necessary that our position as the dominant species on the planet is being challenged. I also agree that it is a mistake to think that we are becoming Gods. But unfortunately, this is actually what is happening now. Corona doesn’t teach us to be modest, it teaches us how we can -as quickly as possible- go back to business as usual: saving our capitalistic economy.
