sim city

At right is a picture of the city of Toronto seen from a 45-degree angle. At left is a screen shot from the computer game Sim City, in which the player's objective is to develop and maintain a city, including traffic streams, utilities, population and so on. Yes, it's just a game, but remember, the young gamers of today will grow up to be the urban planners of tomorrow.

are you *sure* that the photo is on the left?
(I could believe that the right one is in-game graphics, not of the first simcity-version though :)

What is your view on the coronavirus?

Siri Beerends: I really embrace the idea that viruses can teach us a lesson in modesty. It is necessary that our position as the dominant species on the planet is being challenged. I also agree that it is a mistake to think that we are becoming Gods. But unfortunately, this is actually what is happening now. Corona doesn’t teach us to be modest, it teaches us how we can -as quickly as possible- go back to business as usual: saving our capitalistic economy.
