*For centuries, artists tried to capture the beauty of landscapes and skies because that was what they saw around them. Nowadays, artist and poets work with secondhand images, media icons and corporate slogans because that is what surrounds them. This is my poetry.

We will never achieve full understanding of our surroundings as they mutate and are mutated by our own evolving interpretation of them, and ultimately, us. There's always going to be a then and now, them and us. - Art is culture. We interpret our surroundings. I'm starting to believe that it's a fallacy to assume that the nature of the subject artists have been painting has changed. Since if foundations it was all cultural to begin with.
