Corporate Slogan Poem*

Where do you want to go today?
Think different. Just do it.

Sense & simplicity. Have it your way.
Can't beat the feeling. Make it real.
The best a man can get.

Be an original. Just for the taste of it.
Connecting people. Simply closer.
I'm loving it. Because you're worth it.

*For centuries, artists tried to capture the beauty of landscapes and skies because that was what they saw around them. Nowadays, artist and poets work with secondhand images, media icons and corporate slogans because that is what surrounds them. This is my poetry.

We will never achieve full understanding of our surroundings as they mutate and are mutated by our own evolving interpretation of them, and ultimately, us. There's always going to be a then and now, them and us.
-
Art is culture. We interpret our surroundings. I'm starting to believe that it's a fallacy to assume that the nature of the subject artists have been painting has changed. Since if foundations it was all cultural to begin with.

Should men be able to give birth to children?


Koert van Mensvoort: Is the artificial womb frankenstein-like symbol of (male) engineers trying to steal the magical womb from women? Or… is it a feminist project and needed to reach through equality between the sexes? I personally lean towards the latter. To me it feels like progress if a girl can tell a guy to carry the womb for a change.
