Denmark-based designer Olivia Muus introduced classical paintings to the art of the selfie. With the series Museum of Selfies, she combined the original art of portraiture with its modern counterpart, the the smartphone self-portrait.

With a cleverly positioned hand and a smartphone, it looks like the lords and ladies of old-world paintings are getting into the social media trend themselves, sharing their picture on Instagram.

Nowadays, the concept of selfie is so popular to be regarded as a classic, becoming the self-portrait of the digital age. This space-time connection between past and present makes us think about our current idea of what is "classic".

Koert van Mensvoort: Is the artificial womb frankenstein-like symbol of (male) engineers trying to steal the magical womb from women? Or… is it a feminist project and needed to reach through equality between the sexes? I personally lean towards the latter. To me it feels like progress if a girl can tell a guy to carry the womb for a change.
