Do Kids Know Where Dinner Comes From?

Is your child aware of where the food on the dinner table actually comes from? A Japanese television show called Souda, Sakanaya-san e Ikou! (translated: Yeah, Let’s Go to the Fish Market!), decided to test this simple question with a funny and thought-provoking experiment.

For this test, they put a few cooked salmon pieces in an aquarium, and let them swimming inside the fish tank as a new kind of salmon species. After a brief moment of confusion, it seems these kids still understand that what they eat is different from what is swimming in the ocean. Otherwise, can you imagine a world where sliced sashimi swims under the sea, or where chicken fillets run happily in the farm?

Should men be able to give birth to children?

Koert van Mensvoort: Is the artificial womb frankenstein-like symbol of (male) engineers trying to steal the magical womb from women? Or… is it a feminist project and needed to reach through equality between the sexes? I personally lean towards the latter. To me it feels like progress if a girl can tell a guy to carry the womb for a change.
