Can robots help us in creative processes? If you are in Amsterdam you can visit Pakhuis de Zwijger on Tuesday, January 17, at 20:00 to learn more. During this event, titled Design Matters #19 Me and My Robot, various designers and artists give their view on how robotics became a part of their creative profession. We will be there to introduce our design challenge Empowered by Robots.

With this competition we are looking for the job of the future, where humans and technology collaborate on the work floor. The best submission will win 10.000 euros to develop the idea and it will get extensive coaching by NNN director Koert van Mensvoort. Above all, the winning profession will become part of Hubot, the job agency for humans and robots, which will be launched during the Dutch Design Week 2017. You can apply now and submit your idea on how emerging technologies can create new perspectives for the labour market.

To get inspired you can listen to the speakers of the Design Matters #19 Me and My Robot program: former NNN designer Erik van der Even, Jelle Feringa, Hansje van Halem, Soren Blomgaard and Marleen Kaptein. The event is free and in Dutch. More info: Pakhuis de Zwijger.

Should men be able to give birth to children?

Lisa Mandemaker: Using an artificial womb could lead to more equality between sexes, but also between different family layouts. If men would be able to give birth to children, it would maybe be easier for male same-sex couples to have a child together.
