Visit the Garden of Eden
January 30th 2017

Make no mistake, this Eden is not paradise as we know it. In the Garden of Eden there is no technology to cater to our needs. In this world we go back to the cave, struggling with diseases and predators, dramatically decreasing our life expectancy. Nevertheless, many prefer to live freely from modern civilization. It would be up to us to create new art, new philosophy, new values. In short, we are at the beginning of a new society. This landscape is one of the possible future habitats for the humans living in the next nature. Step inside the Next Nature Habitat VR to discover the other environments we might live in someday.

What is your view on the coronavirus?

Siri Beerends: I really embrace the idea that viruses can teach us a lesson in modesty. It is necessary that our position as the dominant species on the planet is being challenged. I also agree that it is a mistake to think that we are becoming Gods. But unfortunately, this is actually what is happening now. Corona doesn’t teach us to be modest, it teaches us how we can -as quickly as possible- go back to business as usual: saving our capitalistic economy.
