June 8th 2017

Since our first community experiment of the ECO coin earlier this year we have been hard at work improving our sustainable currency for planet Earth. All this work must have been noticed, as we are pleased to announce that the ECO coin has been shortlisted for the Border Lab Awards 2017.

A selected jury and our audience will choose the winner among 20 finalists. The award will be given to the project that better demonstrates true vision in an increasingly complex world, inspires a new generation and results in new perspectives, ideas and technologies that truly improve society. We hope to see you at the Border Sessions from 28 to 30 June in The Hague, where you can hear our plans to make the ECO coin a global currency that can be used by anyone, anywhere to inspire sustainable actions and to make our planet great again!

Should men be able to give birth to children?

Koert van Mensvoort: Is the artificial womb frankenstein-like symbol of (male) engineers trying to steal the magical womb from women? Or… is it a feminist project and needed to reach through equality between the sexes? I personally lean towards the latter. To me it feels like progress if a girl can tell a guy to carry the womb for a change.
