Honestly, we haven't checked whether the producers of the 8-bit icon watch pay any revenue for the use of the Apple icon – my guess is they don't. Anyhow, we are hoping Susan Kare will interpret the icon watch as an homage to her original icon design for the Mac OS. That's what it is. Anticipating your followup question: I have no idea whether Apple ever paid Swiss watchmakers for the use of the watch metaphor in their OS.
