Though these people look like they're walking across an abyss in the center of Lyon, in reality it’s just an optical illusion. This faux-3D bridge is the work of French artist François Abelanet.

This 3D street art represents four different surreal universes, each with an exceptional attention to detail. The work achieves its startling effect through anamorphosis, a deformation of an image produced by an optical illusion. From a specific vantage point of view, the picture appears clear, showing the 3D effect. The work, measuring more than 6,000 square meters, was an attempt to be entered into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest street artwork ever done.
