Good day astronauts of spaceship Earth! Today it was announced that Next Nature's plans for the Evoluon have been awarded a financial contribution of €7.6 million from the Region Deal Brainport Eindhoven. The Region Deal Brainport Eindhoven was established through a collaboration between the national government and the region, in order to strengthen the quality of life, the business climate and the economic strength of the region.
Next Nature in Evoluon
From 1 January 2022, Next Nature will be the new official crew of the iconic national monument and is supported by the national and regional government in its aim to start a future lab in the Evoluon. Next Nature works together with owner Lichtstad Erfgoed and other partners from Eindhoven's unique ecosystem of technology and design, such as the Dutch Design Foundation, GLOW, TU/e, STRP Festival concert and the Design Academy. With the arrival of Next Nature, this iconic building will once again be open to the public.
Development of the park
Next Nature, Lichtstad Erfgoed and the municipality of Eindhoven are discussing the future development of the park around the Evoluon, a hub for design and technology and a future lab. Government Architect Floris Alkemade is involved as an advisor in the development of the Evoluon and the park.
Save the humans, join the crew of spaceship earth
The future Evoluon tells the story of Mothership Earth that encourages us all to work together as a harmonious crew for the future of our planet Earth. The public activities of the next four years are part of the Next Nature Future Lab, to which the Minister of Education, Culture and Science, the province of Noord-Brabant and the municipality of Eindhoven pledged their support last year. Visitors to the Evoluon are encouraged to reflect on technological change through exhibitions, events, talks, publications and training the crew for future generations to come.
