As a philosophy graduate, Joyce questions the way that we perceive the world around us. She is interested in opposing concepts such as natural/artificial, authentic/inauthentic that shape our opinion on new scientific & technological developments. The distinction between these concepts is not always as clear as they appears to be, therefore Joyce hopes to discover what concepts shape the public opinion on future reproductive technologies.
