Your Visit

  • What are the opening hours?

    RetroFuture and Restaurant Next are open:
    Tuesday-Saturday 10.00 AM - 05.00 PM
    Sunday 12.00 AM - 05.00 PM
    Monday CLOSED

    Check evoluon.com for exceptions in opening hours.

    Exception: Restaurant NEXT consists of two parts: the bar area and the fine dining area. The fine dining part is only accessible with a reservation. Reservations are also possible outside the aforementioned opening hours. Reservations can be made by e-mail: next@evoluon.com.

  • I don’t like to travel heavy. Is there a wardrobe/locker for my belongings?

    We have a public wardrobe and free lockers, but the space is limited, so you are not guaranteed space for your belongings.

  • Is there a museum shop?

    Yes, you can access it with or without a RetroFuture ticket. Did you know we also have a webshop?

  • Can I stick around once I have visited RetroFuture?

    Absolutely! We’d love to see you enjoying the Evoluon and your visit has no time limit besides our opening hours. Relax in our lounge, grab a drink on our terrace (when the weather allows us to) or enjoy a delicious meal at our fabulous Brasserie Next.

  • Are there children’s activities at RetroFuture?

    We do offer a worksheet for children up to 12 which they can fill in during their visit.

  • My schedule is full but my children would love to come. Can they come unaccompanied?

    Unfortunately not, you cannot leave children under the age of 12 unaccompanied.

  • Where can I find special opening hours?

Tickets

  • Do I need to book a ticket online before my visit to RetroFuture?

    We recommend that you book your ticket online to avoid queues at the counter. It is also possible to buy your ticket(s) on-site at the Evoluon.

  • Why do I need to book a separate ticket for the VR Time Machine?

    Time travel is not for the faint hearted! Our stewards will first guide you through health and safety ensuring you have a pleasant flight. Our time machine is limited to only 8 passengers per trip. So to ensure you land back safely in this time zone, we ask you to reserve your slot with a separate ticket.

  • Can I decide in the Evoluon if I would like to visit the VR Time Machine?

    We can book on the day, but to guarantee a flight, we recommend booking in advance.

  • I won’t be able to visit the museum. Can I give my ticket to someone else?

    If you are unable to visit, you can indeed give your ticket to someone else, just make sure to send them the digital ticket.

  • I haven’t received my ticket. What should I do?

    Check your spam box! If you still didn’t receive anything, send an email to evoluon@nextnature.net with the name and date of booking.

  • Do I receive a discount with my CJP/student card?

    We offer discounts for students, CJP holders and those 65+. Everyone under 18 visit for free. We do not accept the Museumkaart.

  • Is the Museumkaart valid at RetroFuture?

    No, the Museumkaart is not valid with us.

  • Is there a discount for senior citizens, groups or teachers?

    We offer discounts for 65+, but not for groups or teachers. However we do offer school and business programs as part of the RetroFuture exhibition.

  • I don't have access to the internet and/or a smartphone. How can I reserve a ticket?

    So retro! If you live locally, stop by and our crew will be more than happy to help.

  • Do I need to print out my ticket(s)?

    That is not necessary, you may show your ticket digitally.

  • Can I change the date and/or time of my ticket?

  • Can I make a cancellation or refund enquiry?

  • How can I arrange a group booking?

    You can book up to 30 tickets per purchase. But we won’t close our doors to larger groups! Please contact evoluon@nextnature.net to arrange your visit. Check out our programs for business and schools here

  • I’d like to plan a group visit for my school or business, is that possible?

    We’re open to all educational trips and have a variety of creative programs to offer. Please visit our Next Nature Academy website here

  • How can I reach the RetroFuture exhibition?

    RetroFuture is located inside the Evoluon at the address: Noord Brabantlaan 1A 5652 LA Eindhoven

    We are very easy to reach, read the descriptions below on how to get to us by public transport and car.

  • How can I reach RetroFuture by public transport?

    We are very easy to reach. Take the train to Eindhoven Central or Eindhoven Strijp. You can then take a shared scooter or bicycle to the Evoluon. Or take the bus, which stops right in front of our UFO. Use the OV9292 travel planner for the best travel advice. You will know exactly where to go after getting out, you cannot miss the spaceship.

  • How can I reach RetroFuture by car?

    The Evoluon is easily accessible by car, located in the heart of Brabant on the A2. Den Bosch, Tilburg and Weert are within half an hour's travel time. It takes less than an hour to reach us from Utrecht, Rotterdam and Maastricht. From the highway you drive directly into our parking lot, where there is more than enough parking space.   • Can I park my car near the Evoluon?

    Yes, you can.

  • Can I park my bicycle near the Evoluon?

    Yes! But there is no locked or guarded bicycle parking available.

  • Is RetroFuture wheelchair and pram friendly?

    Yes, we ensure all our facilities and the exhibition are accessible. The Evoluon has elevators to each floor and all toilets are accessible to wheelchairs. Please inform at our information desk at arrival if you would like assistance.

  • Is there disabled parking?

    Yes.

  • Can I bring my (assistance) dog?

    Registered assistance dogs are allowed. Please do not bring other pets.

  • Is RetroFuture safe to visit if you suffer from epilepsy?

    We do not recommend those who suffer with epilepsy to visit the RetroFuture exhibition.

  • Is the VR Time Machine safe to visit if you suffer from epilepsy?

    We do not recommend those who suffer with epilepsy to visit the VR Time Machine.

  • What about first aid?

    We have trained employees on hand at all times.

Eat & Drink

  • Can I eat and/or drink something at RetroFuture/ Evoluon?

    Yes, our restaurant NEXT is located opposite the lounge of the Evoluon. NEXT consists of two parts: the bar area and the fine dining area. The bar area provides counter service, reservations cannot be made in the bar area. The fine dining part is only accessible with a reservation.

    There is also an Espresso bar which can be found on the ground floor of the dome near the entrance. Both locations are accessible without a ticket to all visitors to the Evoluon.

  • Are you allowed to take your drinks/ food into the expo?

    No.

  • What are the opening hours of the Espresso bar?

    The opening hours of the Espresso bar are the same as the opening hours of the museum.

  • Do I have to make reservations?

    Reservations are not possible in the Espresso bar and the bar area of ​​NEXT. Reservations are required for the unique experience of our NEXT menu. You can make a reservation here.

  • Where can I find the menu?

    The menu of the bar area can be found in the restaurant, not online. The NEXT menu is a changing surprise menu from our chef.

  • Can I also have lunch at the Espresso bar?

    In the Espresso bar we mainly sell a range of snacks in addition to drinks. For an extensive lunch you can go to NEXT.

  • Is NEXT wheelchair accessible?

    NEXT is wheelchair accessible via a special route. If you come with a wheelchair, please indicate this in advance so that our staff can guide you.

  • Does NEXT also have a terrace?

    Yes, in good weather our terrace with a view of the dome and the pond is open. We do not serve the NEXT menu here, you can only book inside for this.

  • How can I pay?

    We have a pin only policy in the Espresso bar and in NEXT.

  • Can I consume my own food & drinks in the Espresso bar and NEXT?

    No, it is not allowed to consume your own food and drinks in the Espresso bar or NEXT. This is also not allowed on the NEXT terrace.
