  • @Koert Did you see any scale-like-nature? Is the scale pumped up to hide technology? Again: Culture=Fake Nature.

Well, read our pressrelease on http://schotelsticker.nl and take a look at the El Hema Design Competition of Mediamatic. (we are nominated for the Design Award!) That will answer some of your questions.

  • But since you are the designer Luc, why don't you tell us a bit more on how you got the idea and your thoughts behind it.

  • Luc, your sunflower dish is a lovely concept. Although I hate plastic flowers and fake images of old nature in general, your design surely has more dept. It says so much about our relation with both modern technology and old nature. I love the irony of the project. I would surely love to see some streets redecorated like this. It is cheerful and sad at the same time.

@Koert: This blog says: "Our established view of "nature" needs reconsideration" so... what's the problem with culture becoming fake nature? The Sunflower dish is only ONE example of our stickers, so it is very easy to point your finger to this design and bash into it like you do, just my 2 cents.

  • Post them all Koert, I think you will need more, fake or real, GB of serverspace. ;-) I would say: 'Culture = Fake Nature'. The phenomenon website's is not even inbetween. And it's not hiding it, it's giving it an accent. That is what you are showing in the photofucked pic on top.

  • Sure! keep posting them.

I think it will be interesting to post them all, Koert. That way we could gather some examples on how man is trying to shape the world with nostalgia and nature. Fake or real...

  • People hiding technology with fake nature, remains a fascinating phenomenon. We could easily fill a whole category of 'culture becomes fake nature' with examples like these.
