Japanese ketchup manufacturer Kagome found a creative idea to promote the nutritional benefits of tomatoes, especially for the runners of the Tokyo Marathon. This original invention could shake up the mid-run fuel snack industry.

The Wearable Tomato Project consists in a robot that dispenses tomatoes, feeding the athletes on the go while they are running. Inspired by the hydration pack that outdoor sportspeople use as drinking reservoir, this product allows a runner to strap on a contraption over his head, and an automated lever moves to dispense tomatoes to the mouth of the runner.
